2011 EMRA Time Trial & Race Series
Taking a little too much kerbing can sometimes hurt a lot. Despite crashing out
before we could do any setup work, we somehow managed to take 2nd in the ST4 TT
class. No complaints from here though.

In lieu of driving, we worked at the BeaveRun event. Everyone got more than their
fair share of sunburn, but thanks to EMRA, FRCCA, and the Steel Cities Region SCCA
the weekend was a hit with all of the drivers and workers.

It turns out that the summer heat is a bit too much for full tread RA1s, even at
Lime Rock Park. Our race was cut short after extreme tyre degredation slowed us
to a crawl, then a wild spin off of Big Bend put us all the way to the back.
The car did cross the line, but by that time we were dead last, 2 laps down from the leader.

A good start and a great race came to a jarring halt on lap 10 with a massive fuel
problem. Apparently, the newly tuned ECU did not ilke the 92 octane gas that the
engine got in the morning, and the car started misfiring shortly after the start.
Lesson learned - Don't put Wawa gas in your race car, no matter how badly you are in a pinch.
